We discovered Burford 30 years ago and wanted to stay at The Lamb Inn, but it was booked for a wedding. Two more trips to the area and we still could not get a room. Finally on a whim, we tried the week of and they had a room open. It was well worth waiting for. The rooms are well appointed, updated, but still have character. The service from check in to check out was superb. The dining was the best among some of the finest I have had in England. And while Burford as a town to visit has become more commercial than we like, the Lamb Inn or the Bay Tree are both excellent places to stop at.

Location, central to the area. All of it really.

    None.

The staff were friendly and helpful and efficient, and should be treasured! There was a relaxed atmosphere and high standards. The breakfasts were especially good.

Our room (Brewery) had a rather cramped bathroom, with inadequate storage space/places to put toiletries etc.

Our second visit, comfortable, traditional, quality cuisine, beautiful building and town

Beds far too soft, dinner spoilt by waiters continually walking through dining room with meals for the bar, made worse by springy wood flooring, a question of shaken not stirred.

Very nice outside look but the room and the hotel are not freshly renovated. Room and bathroom are very small and not convenient.

Love the Location, and historic buildings, gardens, surrounding area. The attentiveness of staff was excellent.Food was very good.

Beds were uncomfortable for me, which is a bad combination with jet lag.

Beautiful hotel in a beautiful part of the English Countryside. Great food and would recommend to others.

The staff were absolutely outstanding! The location was very quiet; as it was an inn we expected a few revellers at the bar, not at all. There is an absolutely charming, sunny inner courtyard with garden and umbrellas that would be able to be used in most seasons as it is so sheltered for quiet reading, or for moning tea etc. The food was great both by the fire, and in the formal dining room.An extensive breakfast is offered. The chef is apparently someone who is well recognized. The inn's decor is perfect and it quite sophisticated with old wood, gleaming copper and botanical prints. The bedroom was spacious with it's own ensuite.Tea making and delicious biscuits from Huffkins bakery were provided and much appreciated!

This is a very minor point. Car parking is not available but we were always able to park on the street right outside our room.

The attention of the staff, excellent food and great location.

small room, too much furniture in the room, hard bed, no ground floor window screening such as roller blinds or voiles

The Lamb Inn is set in a collection of buildings forming a coherent whole, parts of which date from the 16th century. Its location on Sheep Street in Burford, in the heart of the Cotswolds, is a tourist experience in its own right. In addition, the Lamb's staff are particularly obliging and go out of their way to make you feel personally welcome.

We wanted to visit the Cotswolds for a short time and the Lamb's Inn offered a very fine location to accomplish that goal. To our delight the Inn also offered a beautifull large room with every amenity we could wish for plus a dining room and Pub with excellent food. We found the saff most helpfull. We felt the price was very fair and we would recommend the Lamb's Inn to all our friends.

Country feel, lovely location, pretty town, clean and comforable room, excellent service and scrummy food.

    Nothing it was all good!

Lovely, understated traditional environment, without being dowdy. Fantastically attentive staff all around.

could have used a chest of drawers in bedroom. But we weren't fussed

Very welcoming. Lounge space adequate and homely and divided up so not all in one area. Breakfast very good- individually cooked rather than hot food kept in trays of fat. Dinner menu excellent, though some may find the fayre somewhat rich. There are alternatives available in the bar with good choice and changing 'specials'. While we had afternoon tea twice outside and bar drinks at tables in the courtyard and garden this facility would be great in warmer and settled weather.

The fact that there is no parking was thought to be an issue but we found we were not greatly troubled and it was reasonably easy to find spaces near the hotel. On occasions we parked and then reparked nearer in the evening.

the whole experience.tremendous staff, very knowledgable-whether about the wine list,or the make up of the meals.
